The Ford F-series of pickup trucks has long been the most beloved and bestselling line of pickups in the entire world, and that’s for good reason. These trucks know how to deliver heavy-duty performance without skimping on comfort. They can go anywhere, do anything, tow and haul anything, and are just a world of fun to drive. Like all vehicles, however, they require regular maintenance to keep running like new. At Veero Ford, we’re thrilled to offer this overview of the maintenance schedule of a 2024 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Ford F-150 Maintenance Schedule Basics
Your 2024 Ford F-150 maintenance schedule begins with the basics. First, watch your Intelligent Oil Life Monitor system which will tell you when it’s time to get an oil change (usually around every 6 months or 6,000 miles, but this could vary depending on your driving habits).
At each oil change, you should also have the following services performed:
- Change the oil filter
- Inspect and rotate tires
- Multi-point visual inspection
- Inspect transmission fluid level, brakes, coolant, hoses, exhaust system, axle, half-shaft boots, ball joints, steering, tie-rod ends, driveshaft, wheels, cabin air filter and engine air filter.
Every 20,000 Miles
Besides the basics above, every 20,000 miles your technician will change your cabin air filter (if it has not been recently changed). This ensures that you are always breathing clean and fresh air in your cabin.
Every 30,000 Miles
At 30,000-mile intervals, your Ford F-150 needs a replacement engine air filter, to help keep the engine running smoothly. If you have a Raptor trim or do a lot of off-road driving, you may also need to change the front axle fluid and transfer case fluid.
Every 60,000 Miles
When you hit 60,000-mile intervals, you will need to have your accessory drive belts inspected, and you will likely need to have the spark plugs replaced. This ensures a smooth start and a smooth ride.
Every 100,000 Miles
The recommendations for your Ford F-150 at 100,000-mile intervals are the same as those at 60,000-miles. Your service technician, however, will perform an inspection of these elements to determine whether they need to be changed or are still in good shape.
Every 150,000 Miles
At 150,000-mile intervals it’s time to perform some major fluid changes. At these intervals you will need a transmission fluid flush and change as well as changing the fluid in your transfer case and your front and rear axles. All of this ensures your Ford keeps shifting strong when it needs to.
200,000 Miles
At 200,000 miles, if it has not been done recently, you will need to change your engine coolant. Engine coolant is one of the most overlooked fluids in cars and keeping it fresh means keeping your car from overheating, which can cause severe engine damage.
Every Three Years
Finally, every three years it is recommended that you change your brake fluid. Even in sealed systems, the various fluids that provide pressure and lubrication to the various parts of your vehicle can break down and become fouled. Keeping them fresh means ensuring your vehicle always runs like new!
